Fiverr offers you the opportunity to get your gig in front of millions of customers daily, but standing out amongst the competition isn’t easy. There are so many people doing exactly what you’re doing, only cheaper and with better descriptions that seem to be getting all the views and sales. How do you beat them? That’s where Fiverr gig SEO comes in.

Update your tags

Always make sure your tags are complete. The whole point of tags is to be able to find what you’re looking for on a platform, so don’t leave any blank spaces. This includes all variations of keywords: plural and singular versions, misspellings, synonyms, and related terms (you can use a tool like Adwords or Wordnik). The more specific your tags are to your gigs, the better positioned they will be to appear in search results.

Add keywords to your gig descriptions

The first thing you need to do is to add keywords to your gig descriptions. As a rule of thumb, I try to add at least 5 relevant keywords in my descriptions. Of course, I don’t use 5 in every single gig description as not all of them have all those keywords in their respective titles but it’s a good idea to try and stuff at least 5 relevant keywords into each description. If you want more information on how to choose which keywords to target for your gig, check out my Fiverr profile and read about my step-by-step guide for choosing the right keywords for any service/gig.

Have at least 100 words in your descriptions

Try to add keywords that you know your clients will be searching for. Every time someone searches those keywords on Google, your gig will appear at or near the top of their search results. Again, make sure that you incorporate targeted keywords into each description; they’ll make your gig more accessible to potential customers!

Use a keyword in the heading of your gig

Most gigs are optimized for long-tail keywords. Using a keyword that your client might search for in the title of your gig will optimize the visibility of your gig and get you more views, and hopefully a higher ranking. This is one of the most important SEO techniques for Fiverr gigs. The best keyword to use in the heading of your gig is one related to your job, but that doesn’t come up too often when someone searches on google.

Provide as much detail as possible about your gig

In your gig description, you want to include a few lines about why your gig is unique or special and what you provide for customers that others can’t. Don’t write too much about yourself, but do showcase your gig in a way that showcases its value and illustrates exactly how it will make someone’s life better. As we noted earlier, SEO isn’t just about technical optimizations; it involves making sure your content is valuable to users as well.

Include a clear call-to-action (CTA) on every page of your site

Most businesses have some sort of CTA (call-to-action) on their site, and that’s usually in the form of a button. Whether you want to increase your website’s conversion rate or improve its page rank, however, a call-to-action is incredibly important so be sure to include one on every page of your site. What should that call-to-action say?

Avoid using grammar mistakes and typos

Top SEO experts agree that grammar and spelling are crucial parts of every content marketing campaign. By taking time to edit your writing and have someone else proofread it for you, you show readers that you’re serious about what you’re trying to say. The same applies here: typos and grammatical mistakes don’t give users a great impression of your brand or company, which could affect how they view your services.

Show some personality in your copywriting

Show some personality in your copywriting. I’m not suggesting that you inject the foul language into your descriptions or start writing about yourself (those could hurt your rankings!), but there are other ways to use your words to show off a little bit of who you are and what you’re like. It goes back to personality: Start using it in your writing, too! It will pay off with better engagement and more sales on Fiverr.
